Dillon Henry


Dillon Henry received his Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in Music Composition from Carnegie Mellon University in 2010, where he studied composition with Nancy Galbraith and Reza Vali and orchestration with Leonardo Balada. His orchestral work In the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind co-won first prize for the undergraduate orchestra composition competition at Carnegie Mellon and his work Objection! for string quartet was read and recorded by the JACK quartet.

In 2009, he attended the European American Musical Alliance program in Paris, France, where he studied composition with Michel Merlet and had a performance of his choir piece Buffalo Bill ‘s. In 2013, he attended the highSCORE music festival in Pavia, Italy.

He is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Music Composition at the University of Michigan, where he has studied with Michael Daugherty. He has also completed two film scores: the feature-length Kidney Beans in 2012 and the short Drake Barras in 2010.
