Nafisa Baker

3-D CGI Effects Artist
Nafisa Baker is an accomplished non-linear storyteller and programmer. She graduated from the University of California, Irvine, in 2011 with a B.S. in Computer Science. In her senior year there, she served as the Vice President of Women in Information and Computer Science. After graduation, she took a position as Lead Project Coordinator for NTT Data Americas in Santa Monica, California.

Ms. Baker then moved to Pittsburgh to attend Carnegie Mellon University’s (CMU) Entertainment Technology Center (ETC) for a master’s degree. She is expecting to graduate from the program this May with a Master of Entertainment Technology degree . While at the ETC, she has served as both the film and experience designer for the Cheshire Project, in collaboration with CMU’s Department of Philosophy. This interactive experience, entitled “Watched,” urges participants to ask themselves fundamental questions about their right to privacy and the security of their own data. Ms. Baker has also designed a two-player interactive haunted maze game for the Building Virtual Worlds class. She works in the media of 3-D computer-generated visual effects, transmedia, and photography.
